The Tønder Marsh at Vidå River Lock
Wayfinding Landscape, 2022
Show info
At the western edge of Denmark, where the vast landscape of the Tønder Marsh meets the Wadden Sea, JAC Studios developed a site-specific wayfinding and landscape interpretation project at the Vidå River Lock (Vidåslusen). Completed as part of the wider Tønder Marsh Initiative, the project strengthens visitors’ understanding of one of Northern Europe’s most distinctive cultural landscapes.
As part of a larger network of exhibitions and visitor destinations across the Tønder Marsh, the Vidå River Lock project contributes to a coherent narrative about the region’s natural and cultural heritage. It demonstrates how design can enhance understanding of place while remaining deeply respectful of its character and scale.
